About Helene
Helene McGlauflin is a counselor, writer and yoga teacher. She has a Masters Degree in Counselor Education (MEd) from the University of Southern Maine, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LCPC) issued by the State of Maine and a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher (KYT).
Helene has been a dedicated educator for 40 years and contributing to various professional fields through her writing. She has developed the Calm and Alert class to teach resiliency skills such as: respect, self control, self awareness, attentiveness and focus, cooperation, problem solving and expectations for the various times of the school day to the children she serves as a counselor.

Calm and Alert is an innovative approach to teaching self regulation and social skills to children by utilizing their bodies, minds, and breath through yoga and mindfulness practices. Calm and Alert is a set of concepts and practices that any adult can bring to the children they work with or are raising, in various settings.

Solstice, Helene McGlauflin’s third collection of poetry is a sweet selection of poems written for and during the dark days before the winter solstice.
